General Comments:
San Francisco Tax Manager Top 20 CPA firm, up to $110K
Current public accounting experience required and CPA Required (no relo, local candidates only)
Experience in hedge funds & private equity required
Education: Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in accounting or MS in Accounting, CPA license required, Advanced degree in taxation and/or law degree preferred.
Experience:
5 -8 years of experience related to tax compliance for hedge funds and/or private equity funds or other partnership tax experience.
Candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
Skills:
Computer Literacy, including strong excel skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
Tax Related Tasks:
Manage, train, and mentor a staff of 3 to 5 tax professionals.
Review partner tax allocations, tax adjustments, Schedules K-1, and Forms 1065 for hedge funds, private equity funds, and fund-of-funds.
Ensure accurate completion of Schedules K-1 and tax filings by applicable deadlines
Review and maintain engagement budgets.
Perform tax research to determine or confirm the tax treatment of complex financial instruments and communicate findings to partners and/or clients verbally or in writing.
Draft written responses to tax notices from various federal and state tax agencies.
Respond to questions from clients and staff in a timely manner.
Communicate project status to partners and clients on a regular basis.
Develop strong working relationships with clients.
Identify tax planning opportunities for clients.
Review and comment on adequacy of tax disclosures in offering memorandums and limited partnership agreements for start-up funds and funds.
