    The main responsibility of the Senior Cost Analyst is to oversee the cost and inventory accounting system, including establishing standard cost of goods sold and inventory management. This position works very closely with materials management and other members of the manufacturing and service groups.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:
    *Manage all cost accounting activities including maintaining the cost accounting systems.
    *Responsible for establishing and maintaining appropriate standard cost of goods sold; performs and analyzes annual cost roll.
    *Reconciles general ledger inventory account balances and completes inventory valuation reports.
    *Responsible for inventory accuracy; ensure cycle count procedures are adequate and properly executed including verification of cycle counts for both manufacturing and service.
    *Analyze variances and determines capitalization of variances as appropriate on quarterly basis.
    *Responsible for warranty accrual and inventory obsolescence reserve.
    *Assists in annual budget process and quarterly forecasting.
    *Performs monthly gross margin analysis, manufacturing variance analysis and reporting of other manufacturing metrics.
    *Works directly with internal and external auditors on all inventory and cost of goods sold matters; ensures compliance with SOX.
    *Work with IT to initiate process and reporting improvements to streamline analysis and closing process.
    *Assists with other projects as required.


    Required Qualifications:
    *BA in Accounting required, with 5-7 years cost accounting experience in manufacturing environment. CPA certification a plus.
    *Experience managing cost accounting activities, including periodic cost roll, required.
    *Experience with field inventories strongly preferred.
    *Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; ERP system experience (SAP
    knowledge is preferred).
    *Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to be a self-starter.
    *Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
    *Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
