Description:
Required: Current public accounting or consulting experience with large firm, CPA required, ideally 10-20 years of experience, must have experience in a dedicated State and Local Tax Practice @ the senior manager or director level
Significant Business development is required the practice is a growing practice with a fast track to partner for the right candidate
No Relocation, local candidates only, office is located on NW side of LA

Business Unit Overview:
Tax provides comprehensive tax services and specialized expertise to businesses, individuals, trusts, estates, non-profit and governmental entities and associations. Comprehensive services include compliance (preparation), planning and consulting and various outsourcing projects. Tax serves clients in all fields, with particular emphasis in manufacturing, financial institutions, distribution, agribusiness, construction, healthcare, exempt organizations and private equity.
Responsibilities:
Overall Strategic Leader
Leader of local State and Local Tax Practice - Communicate and lead the overall local SALT group Vision/Steering
Direct reporting to SALT Regional Leader
Sets local "marketing" direction for SALT product leaders
"Dotted line" reporting to local tax partner in charge
Establish local SALT vision and strategic plan working with SALT Regional Leader and local tax partner in charge.
Establish local overall revenue budgets and targets with SALT Regional Leader and local partner in charge.
Set Metrics by product working with Product Leaders.
Establish local overall headcount budgets with SALT Regional Leader, SALT DU EIC and local partner in charge.
Responsible for achieving local SALT Operating Statement targeted budget.
Responsible for local strategic personnel decisions with input from SALT Regional Leader, SALT DU EIC, Product Leaders, SALT HR Executive and local tax partner in charge.
Initiate hiring process with input from SALT Regional Leader, SALT HR Executive, Product Leaders and local tax partner in charge.
Complete required SALT personnel reviews with input from Product Leaders.
Local Technical Expertise
SALT Technical Resource Locally
Understand local office clients and targets and define Product technical resource needs.
Identify and develop local SALT professionals to fulfill technical needs.
Seek required assistance from Product Leaders - Act as Product Leader liaison.
Provide overall local office technical quality control / processes / efficiencies
Assist Product Leaders with Product enhancements/overall initiatives.
Monitor and ensure achievement of local office professional SALT CPE requirements
Local Office Sales Leader
Marketing - Drive Local Product Group Revenue
Identify local SALT opportunities - current clients & targets
Leverage Local Office Contacts - initiate team selling
Leverage Sales & Business Development Specialists
Leverage SALT Leadership / Product Leaders
Develop Product list /status reports / tracking reports by target
Participate in local office seminars / marketing
Local DU Interface / Cross Selling opportunities
Local SALT ONYX reporting leader
